Our 20s are a weird time. Maybe we’re living life post-grad, exploring new careers, and navigating this new phase of life. A lot of our 20s are filled with self-exploration and self-discovery.
A big part of that is deciding what makes you feel alive!
Hobbies are such an important part of our lives. It can be easy to get into the routine of wake, work, sleep, repeat, without ever really taking time to slow down and take part in things we enjoy.
No way we were born to just work, pay bills, and die.unknown
Life is just too dang short to not make time for things that fulfill your soul and make you feel excited.
Remember when you were a kid and you’d find a new hobby and spend endless hours on it, just because it was so much fun? (For me, this was fashion plates. I was obsessed.)
I’m not sure when we outgrew the need to pursue this pure joy and excitement, but I think it’s time we get it back.
These 100 hobbies for women in their 20s are here to inspire you to chase joy. Find a hobby that ignites your passion or makes you feel like a little kid again. Do the things that make time fly by.
Whether you turn your hobby into a fun side hustle or use it as a pure form of relaxation, developing enjoyable hobbies is an excellent way to better your mental health and improve happiness.
You are worthy of the enjoyment of a good, fulfilling hobby.

I’ve divided these hobbies for young women into 4 main categories: physical hobbies, creative hobbies, social hobbies, and side-hustle hobbies. Choose a category that best fulfills your hobby needs and start trying them out!
25 Physical Hobbies for Young Women
These hobbies for your 20s are specifically geared toward physical health and activity. If you’re an active girl, these may be perfect for you!
Yoga is a great hobby because it combines mental and physical health. It is truly such a great thing to add to your life. You can find great guided yoga videos on YouTube for free. (Yoga With Adriene is my favorite!)
Kickboxing can be such a great release of built-up energy. Again, there are some free videos on YouTube to get you started!
No better way to immerse yourself in nature than on a long, beautiful hike. Look up hikes near you, grab a hiking buddy, and head out!
Swimming is a great workout and a really fun way to move your body! It’s something I wish I was better at!
I love, love, LOVE to run. Some good music on an outdoor run is SO invigorating. It is one of my personal favorite hobbies in my 20s.
Pilates is a great way to feel strong and inspired. I love to follow Move With Nicole’s pilates workouts on YouTube. They are the workouts that make me feel the best.
Similar to pilates, taking up barre as a hobby in your 20s is a great way to care for your body and mind. I love the endorphins that I feel after a barre class. Such a great feeling!
I got this at-home punching bag last summer and it has been one of my new favorite forms of movement. When I’m feeling like a higher-intensity exercise, boxing is my new go-to.
Who says going for a simple walk can’t be a hobby? Outdoor walks are a daily non-negotiable for me. I notice improved mental clarity, mood, and inspiration when I take a walk outside for 10-30 minutes.
Find a perfect podcast for walking and make it a hobby!
I grew up as a dancer, so this is definitely one of my favorite hobbies for women in their 20s. There are so many different options when it comes to dancing – and each style is so unique, which makes it easier to find something you jive with (pun intended).
Zumba is similar to dancing, but different too! I remember taking a Zumba class with my mom at my local YMCA when I was like 8 years old. Aside from that, I don’t have a ton of Zumba experience but it looks super fun!

If you live near the water, surfing is a great hobby idea for young adult women. Your 20s are the perfect time to learn a new physically-demanding skill like this!
I have lots of friends that love to skateboard as their hobby. You can do it just for leisure or learn all those super cool tricks and flips!
*Hey Siri, play Sk8r Boy by Avril Levine* 😉
Longboarding is something I personally enjoy more than skateboarding – simply because it’s easier for me to take upright. Haha! Longboarding can be a really relaxing way to cruise around.

Kayaking is a hobby that’s both good for your mental and physical health. It’s definitely physically demanding, but can be pretty relaxing too!
Biking, to me, is different from cycling. In my mind, biking as a hobby is a way to get outdoors, explore, and move your body in a fun way!
Cute tennis girls in their cute tennis skirts – that’s what I aspire to be. Tennis is such a fun way to get moving and partake in a sport.
Another insanely fun hobby for your 20s that makes you feel like a kid again! Rollerblading is actually quite the workout… I’m not sure how I never realized how hard it was as a kid. Haha!
